Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC)
Better known as SAAC, the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee is a student-run committee of representatives from each team sponsored by College of Staten Island. The mission of the SAAC is noted as follows:
The main goals of SAAC include:
- Foster communication between athletic administration, student-athletes, and teams.
- Offer feedback and insight into athletic department issues.
- Generate a student-athlete voice in the formulation of athletic department policies.
- Build a sense of community within the athletics program involving all athletic teams.
- Encourage active involvement of student-athletes for community service projects.
- Promote a positive image of athletics on campus by celebrating and generating excitement for our unique community of high-achieving student-athletes.
- Provide personal growth opportunities for student-athletes through leadership skill development.
- Create an open forum for safe dialogue among all students on campus.
The purpose of SAAC is to enhance the total student-athlete experience.
SAAC representatives have the following responsibilities: attend all meetings; report events of meetings to teammates and bring team feedback/input to meetings; support athletic department sponsored events, and generate interest among teammates to support these events.
