Recreation and Intramural Information
Group Fitness
Have you always wanted to start an exercise program but haven't known where to start? Well the Sports and Recreation Center offers plenty of opportunities to get started through its Group Fitness Program.
A variety of classes are offered during the day, evening and weekends. This includes aerobic classes (Step, Hi Low, Aqua, Double Step, Kickboxing), mind/body classes (Yoga, Tai Chi, Dahnhak), strength conditioning classes (Body Sculpt, Abdominals, Body Resistaball Bar), combination classes (Step and Tone, Easy Stretch, and Aerobics) and specialty classes (Salsa, Boot Camp). In addition, from time to time, master classes and workshops are offered as well (Women's Self Defense, How to Use the Weight Room, etc).
To participate all you need is a valid student ID card, valid membership card or day pass and sneakers (except in the pool of course!) The class schedule with a description of classes is available at the Membership Desk in the Sports and Recreation Center (1R-204) or on our website under Group Fitness.
