College of Staten Island Athletics

Freshman Demi-Jean Martorano has been named College of Staten island’s Female Athlete of the Month for September 2010. As a member of both the women’s tennis team and the soccer team it is Martorano’s accomplishments on the field that are most notable.

 

The 5-5 rookie has helped the Dolphins to a 5-1 record in the month of September with scoring atleast one goal in each win. To start the season against Polytech, she tallied two goals. Two days later, against Mount St. Vincent, Martorano scored two of the teams five goals. In both the Dolphins wins against Purchase and CCNY, the freshman scored the teams’ lone and winning goal. In CSI’s 8-0 shutout against John Jay she totaled three goals.

 

The New Dorp High School product was named Player of the Week for the CUNYAC on an occasion.
