HISTORY OF THE CSI ATHLETICS HALL OF FAME
The College of Staten Island unveiled its inaugural Hall of Fame class on October 11, 2012. The ground-breaking event honored seven distinguished members of the College of Staten Island program, spanning over 50 years, from Staten Island Community College to CSI. (SICC merged with Richmond College in 1976 to create the College of Staten Island).
A vast committee of 13 members representing a cross-section of CSI staff, faculty, and students, along with professional media and at-large members take in the breadth of nominations made by the community, ultimately naming its class of Hall of Famers. A CSI Hall of Fame Class will be named every other year.
An open call for nominations triggers the selection process, and nominees are then screened and passed on for continued consideration, culminating in the naming of a dedicated class.
