MEETDAY: TRACK & FIELD CARRIES SEASON-LONG RUN OF SUCCESS INTO 2025 ECC INDOOR CHAMPIONSHIP

Staten Island, NY - The College of Staten Island Indoor Track & Field Team carries a season-long run of great success into the 2025 East Coast Conference Indoor Track & Field Championship this afternoon at the Ocean Breeze Track & Field Complex on Staten Island. This will be CSI's fifth appearance in the ECC Championship and the team enters the meet with several conference leaders and top-five athletes in a variety of events. Two different Dolphins have earned ECC Track Athlete of the Week in Vincent Ohenhen and Ibrahima Diallo, the latter earning the accolade three separate times. Additionally, the team has set numerous program records this season and has competed at a high level in meets filled with Division I talent.

Among the highlights of last year's conference championship were four ECC All-Conference honors for three Dolphins. Steven Elcock earned All-Conference First Team recognition for his performance in the 400-Meter and both he and Ohenhen earned Second Team honors for their efforts in the 200-Meter. In the field, Ava Thompson set a still-standing program record in the Weight Throw with a distance of 14.57m. This was good for a spot of the All-Conference First Team.

Entering the ECC Championship this year Ohenhen is top four in the 60-Meter and leads the conference in 200-Meter. Diallo also ranks second in both the 500-Meter and 400-Meter. Karran Riley is not far behind in the 400 as he currently ranks sixth in the conference. The CSI men also rank fourth in the 4x400 Relay. For the women, Adonijah Washington is currently sixth in the 200-Meter as well, and Diallo is second in the 400-Meter. In the field, Skylar Pointer ranks in the top-10 in both the Shot Put and Weight Throw. Finally, Ava Thompson has the fourth best distance in the ECC for the Weight Throw this season.
