Feb. 22, 2025 Meeting Summary

The Dolphins and Penmen have met in doubleheader matchups over the past two seasons, with CSI winning one of the four contests. In last year's meetings, the Dolphins fell by scores of 4–1 and 5–1. In the first game, the Penmen jumped out to a 2–0 lead after two innings. In the top of the third, Jack Kehoe reached base with a single and moved into scoring position on a sacrifice bunt before eventually scoring the Dolphins' lone run on an RBI double.

In game two, the Dolphins fell behind early as the Penmen built a 5–0 lead through four innings. CSI's only run came in the bottom of the sixth inning after capitalizing on a wild pitch.

Spring Training Overview

Southern New Hampshire opened its season on Thursday, Feb. 19, against Felician University, falling 10–6 in a nine-inning contest. On Friday, the Penmen swept Queens College in a doubleheader, scoring a combined 34 runs.

The Dolphins split their opening day series with the Owls, highlighted by strong offensive production. Jason Romance led the team, batting .500 (3-for-6) with his first collegiate home run and four RBI. Jack Kehoe went 3-for-7 with three runs scored, while Nicholas Rodriguez totaled four runs and drew four walks across the doubleheader.

On the mound, Aidan Kielty earned his first win of the season in game one, pitching 5.0 innings and striking out five. Nicholas Chaia made his Dolphins debut in game two, also recording five strikeouts over 4.0 innings pitched.
