COLLEGE OF STATEN ISLAND ATHLETICS
Frank Jennaco HS NEW Flag Coach

Frank Jennaco

During the time that has passed since September's clinic, Frank Jennaco has only seen his excitement for the future of the program growing.  The potential of the sport and the program are huge with organizations like USA Flag, the NFL, and now the Olympics, all recognizing the sport.  Staten Island has some of the best female flag football players in the country, and we have multiple-time world champions in the youth divisions coming from the island. This program has a fantastic shot to become one of the premier programs in the country, and it's all thanks to the tremendous dedication & support CSI has shown us.

Jennaco has an extensive background in the sport of flag football including recognition as a USA football certified gold coach.  His head coaching experience includes time with the Next Level Sports Raiders and Staten Island Storm during which he won three High School Girls GOLD Division Championships, and a Women's Division Championship in 2023.  He has also won multiple travel and regional championships with THT Flag Football and SIG Flag Football, as well as a FFL 7v7 National Championship.  Most recently, he has won a championship with his Knights 14U girls team and currently coaches two Girl's Flag Football teams for his New York Knights organization.

"It is a tremendous honor to be the first head coach of the Women's Flag Football Team at my alma mater, the College of Staten Island,"  Jennaco said. "Not only did we make history by becoming the first collegiate program in New York, but we are also laying the foundation for the future of Women's Flag Football in the area."  Part of this process saw the program host a Flag Football clinic on campus in September of last year.  The Dolphins Sports Academy partnered with the New York Knights to host the clinic, and Jennaco was an important part of bringing the sport to campus for the first time.  Jennaco is one of the Knights' founders, and the organization now has 15 teams and over 150 players in their first official year.  Jennaco's favorite play is when his team ends up in one big pile.
