Vincent Gangemi joined the Dolphins' Track & Field and Cross-Country program in late-November of 2019, joining his brother, Andrew, who is the team's head coach.
A former St. Peter's High School standout, Gangemi then continued his career as a student-athlete at Long Island University's Brooklyn campus. There he helped lead the LIU program for four years, a career that included a 4x400 Northeast Conference Championship in 2010, graduating in 2012 with a dual Bachelor's Degree in Management & Marketing, with a minor in Media Arts.
Gangemi immersed himself into the track & field circuit after graduation as well. Since March of 2014 he has served as the Head Coach for Track & Field and Cross-Country at The Abraham Heschel School in Manhattan, and was awarded PSAA Coach of the Year honors in 2014. During this same time frame he served as a Meet Director for the East Coast Conference's Championships until 2018, and presently serves as the Officials Coordinator for Staten Island Association Meets. From 2015-2018, he also served as a Recreation Specialist at Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in Staten Island, so he is quite familiar with the local landscape.
A former Staten Island Advance All-Star, Gangemi is also a USATF Certified National Official. When he is not around the track circuit, he is a Communications and Signals Helper with Amtrak in Sunnyside, NY. He has high expectations for what the program can be at Staten Island.
