VOLLEYBALL DROPS THREE TO BARUCH IN CONFERENCE PLAY

Jennifer Samuel had 15 assists despite the Dolphins loss to Baruch College.
Box Score Baruch College defeated the College of Staten Island in women's volleyball in three straight sets tonight at the CSI Sports and Recreation Center. Baruch extended their record to 5-4 and 3-0 in the conference while CSI fell to a 1-4 record and 1-2 CUNYAC record.
 
The Bearcats went on an 8-1 run to start the first set and stretched it out the entire set to capture a quick 25-98 win. Starting strong again, the Bearcats captured eight straight points to start the second set finishing with a 25-12 win. The Dolphins came out a bit stronger in the third set dueling back-and-forth each time Baruch scored. CSI had a 5-4 lead to start before Baruch would score nine straight points for a 13-5 lead. However, CSI answered with four straight points to close the gap. From there, the Bearcats steadily pulled away for a 25-13 win in the final set.
 
The Dolphins were led by Selma Kolenovic's six kills while Pola Poskrobko saw five kills and five digs. Jennifer Samuel totaled 15 assists.
 
Baruch's Lauren Hayden and McKenzie Davidson each had eight kills apiece. Crystle Dela Cruz had 16 assists while Rebecca Peralta added five kills and five service aces.
 
The Dolphins will be back in action on Thursday, September 13th, as they travel to Mount St. Vincent for a 7:00 pm match.
