VOLLEYBALL ENTERS WIN COLUMN AFTER 1-1 AT CUNYAC TRI-MATCH

Pola Poskrobko led the Dolphins with a 21 kills after two games in the CUNYAC tri-match.
Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 The Dolphins went 1-1 this afternoon in women's volleyball's CUNYAC Tri-Match at York College. CSI dropped game one to CCNY in four sets before sweeping Medgar Evers in three matches for there first season win. After four games in their opening week, the Dolphins are 1-3.
 
CCNY took set one in a close 26-24 win before CSI came back to defeat them in set two, 28-26. From there, the Beavers took the final two sets by scores of 25-16 and 25-17.
 
Despite the loss, Pola Poskrobko led the Dolphins with nine kills to go with nine digs. Setter Jennifer Samuel totaled 19 assists while libero JeanMarie Lewandowski dug 20.
 
The Dolphins took three straight sets from Medgar Evers; 25-17, 25-14, and 25- 18.
 
Poskrobko continued her performance with 12 kills while Samuel totaled 16 assists and five service aces.
 
“It's a good feeling to capture your first win,” said Head Coach Atef Dosse,”It gives the team more motivation for the next game and the season ahead.” Coach Dosse believes today's win will help the team's confidence,”The players now can see what they can really do. The more we play the more we fix our mistakes and make ourselves better. It was a very positive win today.”
 
CSI will continue conference play as they host Baruch College on Tuesday, September 11, at 7:00 pm.
