VOLLEYBALL SKID HITS SIX WITH LOSS TO WPU

Box Score The College of Staten Island women's volleyball team fell for the sixth straight outing on Tuesday night, falling to William Paterson University in Wayne, NJ, 3-0.  The Dolphins fell in straight games by scores of 25-6, 25-14, and 25-14.  CSI fell to 4-10 overall, while the Pioneers lifted their overall mark to 11-3.

The Pioneers led from start to finish, spreading out 12 kills in each of the first two games before posting 13 in the final game, good for a game total of .261 attack percentage.  Equally effective with the service, the Pioneers spread out 18 aces in the effort, an average of six per game, next to just two total for the Dolphins.

Shauna VanDeRee was the principal catalyst for WPU, spreading out 10 kills on a healthy .318 percentage while adding a game-high 14 defensive digs.  Mary Long was next in file with eight kills.  Danielle Koukos led the match with 19 assists, while Erin Roach and Michelle Guzman posted four aces apiece.

CSI was once again led by Pola Poskrobko's six kills on 19 attempts, but the rest of the Dolphins posted only six kills total next to 11 errors on 51 attempts.  Victoria Wong was a sparkplug defensively with 13 digs.

CSI returns to action on Saturday, when they host Culinary Institute of America at 12 Noon at the Sports & Recreation Center.
