Box Score STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. - The women's volleyball team opened its season at Purchase College and while the Dolphins were excited to return to the floor, it seemed the talent of the Panthers was too much as they fell in their season opener, 0-3, Wednesday.

The Dolphins battled their way through the first set as the two teams traded points before Purchase pushed ahead to take the set 25-20. Despite the tough loss in set one, CSI refused to go down without a fight as the two teams competed for the lead before PC pulled out the win with a score of 25-17. The third set sealed the fate for the Dolphins in their first game as they fell to the Panthers, 5-25.

Leading the offensive attack for the Dolphins was
Monica Concepcion with a team-high 9 kills and a hitting percentage of .474 on the evening, while teammate
Pola Poskrobko added 7 kills of her own on the night.

Last year's CUNYAC Libero of the Year,
JeanMarie Lewandowski, tallied 21 assists on the evening while freshman Loykee Wong led the team with 4 digs. Â

As a team, CSI recorded 23 kills on the night while registering 70 total attacks for a hitting percentage of .271, compared to PC who posted a hitting percentage of .145 on the evening.
