Players to Watch (CSI): Offensively, CSI is being led by
Margaret O'Malley-Rebovich, who is putting in a fantastic sophomore season. She leads CSI with 101 kills and a heavy .384 attack percentage. She also is CSI's top performer in the blocking category with 26 total on the season, including 11 solo efforts.
Francesca Castellano has an excellent chance to hit triple digits in kills today. She has 94 coming in, and she has taken over the team lead in service aces as well, coming up with 40 so far this season.
Caitlin Esposito is second on the team in aces with 35 and has been just as potent around the net, posting 56 kills as well. Defensively, right behind Castellano in the digs category is libero
Cassidy Iannariello with 113, and freshman
Celina Mendez has been solid with 73 digs this season as well.
Players to Watch (MAR): The Privateers have a balanced attack that right now is being led by Celyna Custodio who has 50 kills on 129 attacks, and she is followed by Meredith Hayes with 49 kills and Abigail Steele with 45. Steele also boasts the team lead with 54 digs this season, and she is followed closely by Abigail Solomos who has net 46 digs. Meghan Eagleton, Erika Kirchner and Solomos all share the team lead with 13 service aces, lending more weight to the fact that Maritime can hit opponents with a lot of waves of attack.
Players to Watch (NJCU): The Gothic Knights are being powered by the heavy hands of Pamela Florimon, who has connected on 106 kills on 322 attacks this season. She is also right there among the team leaders in blocks with 15, good for second on the team. Amber O'Donnell has 89 kills this season followed by Stephanie Duque who has 77. Dugue has been fantastic at the service line, connecting on 25 aces this season, just shy of team leader Shylah Ware's 26 to lead the team. Defensively look for Georgina Rayo to lead the way as she has 137 digs this season, followed closely by O'Donnell's 130, and Duque's 102. At the base of the net, look for Naiomi Cintron to be a factor as she leads the team with 18 blocks this season.
News & Notes: Both series' have been good ones and fans can expect competitive play again this morning and afternoon. Against Maritime, CSI had taken four straight but Maritime won the last meeting three years ago by an 3-1 count. Three of the six all-time meetings have gone more than the minimum amount of sets.
