The College of Staten Island women's volleyball team will look to start their season 3-0 for the first time in program history when they host Rutgers-Newark for a non-conference match at The Tank at 7:00 pm.

Players to Watch (CSI): Francesca Castellano paces the Dolphins with 21 kills and proved to be an offensive catalyst for the Dolphins. Castellano has exploited opposing teams with her jump serve and leads the team with 9 service aces. Defensively, Margaret O'Malley-Rebovich is second to none on the Dolphins. Through just two matches, O'Malley-Rebovich has tallied eight blocks, five of which are solo. Also on the defensive side, Cassidy Iannariello has 23 digs through a pair of matches. Freshman Arianna Spears impressed in her collegiate debut and has a team-high 56 assist thus far. 
Players to Watch (RUN): Comfort Akinbo leads the Scarlet Raiders with 8 kills with a .161 hitting percentage. Akinbo also shares the lead with four blocks with Epiphani Woodard. Brione Lockett is the defensive stalwart for the Scarlet Raiders with 15 digs while Karly Gregoire sets up her teammates and has tallied 11 in their lone match this season.
News & Notes: The Dolphins have won just once against the Scarlet Raiders which was a five-set battle back in 2009.  Since then, the Dolphins have lost six straight, taking just two sets over that span. As a team, Staten Island is hitting .213 while their opponents are only hitting .140.  Rutgers-Newark comes in hitting .031 as a squad and have committed 18 errors in just one match. Despite falling in straight sets to USMMA, Rutgers-Newark kept it competitive, scoring no less than 18 points in any set.
