MEETDAY: SWIMMING & DIVING VS. SARAH LAWRENCE, 12PM

After a lengthy layoff, the College of Staten Island Men's & Women's Swimming & Diving teams are getting back in action this afternoon, welcoming in Sarah Lawrence College for the first of three home meets that they will perform in this month.  First race is set for 12 Noon.

All-Time Series:  CSI Men lead, 5-1 / SLC Women lead, 5-0
Last Meeting: January 18, 2019 - CSI men won, 154-70  and SLC women won, 86-74
Players to Watch (CSI):  On the men's side, CSI is being led by the swimming of Michael Stora, who has amassed 132.5 points this season, and leads the way with 12 top finishes this season in individual races.  Peter Carle is next in line with 95 points followed by Michael Blacharski with 87.25 and diver Xavier Nicholson with 80 points.  Carle is second on the team with 13 Top 3 finishes in individual events, while Chris Ivanov is tied with Michael Blacharski with 11 Top 3 finishes.  Ivanov is also the team leader with five gold medals in relay events.  Michael Sorensen is tied for second on the team with Carle with four top finishes...On the women's side, Kathleen Bridgman leads active Dolphins with 86.75 points earned, followed closely by Gabriella Bartley's 80 points.  Sabella Vaserman and Lisnette Solano are next in line with 78.25 and 77.5 points, respectively.  Bartley and Solano are the team leaders with five first-place finishes each in individual events.  Cecelia Mauro has seven second-place finishes which ties her with Bridgman and Melissa Poggioli.  Bartley is tops with four first-place finishes in relay events.
Players to Watch (SLC):  The Gryphons sport just eight men on their roster with no seniors on the slate.  SLC will look to lean on Zachary Tirgan, tehir lone junior to set the tone in the pool, while sophomores Ned Checketts, Pratamesh Raghunandhan, Mani Roshandel, Miles Washington, and Chaz Stafford will be the leading point-getters.  The Gyphons also sport eight women on their team, led by senior Caitie Adler.  The rest of the group is comprised of sophomores and freshman, and the youth will look to contend and take the meet from the Dolphins, as they have had a host of success against CSI in the past.
What's Next?:  CSI will get right back to work on Monday, when they travel for their final road match of the season to Union, NJ, to take on Kean University at 5pm.  As for SLC, this is their final match until the Skyline Championships on January 25-26, taking place at the United States Merchant Marine Academy.
