MEN'S & WOMEN'S SWIMMING & DIVING MAKE A SPLASHING RETURN

Staten Island, NY - The College of Staten Island Swimming and Diving teams competed in tri-meet to begin their 2021 season. Both the men and women faced off against Mount Saint Mary College, while Queens College also competed in the women's event. The men's side came away with a 1st place overall finish against their lone opponents. The women matched that success, placing first overall beating out both oppositions.

INSIDE THE MEET

The Dolphins men's swimmers dominated the field with 1st place finishers across all 11 events. 100 Yard Freestyle came down to the wire, with the top 3 finishers separated by a mere 3 seconds, official times being 00:54.11, 00:55.46, and 00:56.94 respectively. Another tight finish came on the women's side in the 100 Yard Breaststroke with a 1st place finish clocking in at 1:18.07 and 2nd place finish at 1:21.71.

DOLPHINS OF THE MEET

CSI's Men's Relay team of Michael Stora, Maxim Kleyer, Charles Cusumano, and David Poggioli shined, all with a 1st place individual event finish as well as collectively winning the 200 Yard Medley Relay with a time of 1:45.56. Dolphin women Jessica Johnson and Sylvia Ossowska each featured in a first place finish, Johnson in the 50 yard freestyle and Ossowska in the 100 yard breaststroke. The lone Dolphin diver in the competition, Jordan Swanson, went unopposed in the 1 meter dive event, finishing with a total score of 197.17.
