This Week's Result(s) CSI 2, Golden Knights 0 (4-0, 5-0)
Date: Monday, February 8, 2021
Live Stream: CSI Twitch
Notes: Due to technical difficulties the first match wasn't able to be streamed but nonetheless James Handibode (Sly) was able to win the opening round in a tight battle losing two out of his three stocks. CSI then began to go on a huge run when Sofronio Lorenzo (Frio) entered the game as Captain Falcon taking out two Golden Knights players, first, Link played by Zachary Sheremeta (Shem) and then Mew Two played by Jonathan Albert (New Scheme) using an outstanding Falcon Kick to give CSI the early 1-0 lead. As the second set began CSI's hot streak in the match continued as Nicholas Lam (ToonNick) began the match for his team using Toon Link as he eliminated first Link played by Sheremeta (Shem) then Roy played by Nick Hoalcraft (Half Craft) was able to take one stock from Mew Two played by Albert (New Scheme) before finally being eliminated. Lam (ToonNick) performed valiantly as he was able to take a total of seven stocks in a row. Handibode (Sly) checked in as Incineroar and finished the job for CSI by winning the match with the final stock scores of 4-0 and 5-0 respectively.

Date: Tuesday, February 9, 2021
Live Stream: CSI Twitch
Notes: CSI felt right at home in this one, starting things off on the map of Bind and on the attacking side.  They raced out to a 10-2 advantage when on the attach, and made short work of the Friars on defense as well, sweeping the side to win overall, 13-2.  Christian Dumadag (Juicy) led the way with 22 kills, followed by Long Xin Lu (Miruux) who scored 19 kills.  On the second map of Ascent, CSI was down 5-1 at one point as the attackers, but they slowly started to turn the tide and managed to get it tied at 6-6 heading into defense.  Riding momentum, CSI could not be stopped as they swept defensive rounds, 7-0, to take a 13-6 win, finishing on a 12-1 run overall.  This time both Lu and Juicy tied at the top with 25 kills each.

Notes:

In PS4 action, Christopher Valasquez (CSI C) came back down by as many as 15 points to lose game one by only six points playing with the Lakers, however, Llyod Guyzer's (Johnson & Wales-2K) Nets team was too much at the end and came out victorious. In the second game, Valasquez had too many lagging issues during the start of the game and ended up forfeiting due to connectivity difficulties. The next match-up featured former DIII CUNYAC rival John Jay College in both PS4 and Xbox, except this time around they are competing for the first time in ECAC Esports competition. In PS4, Daniel Shostak (CSI D) chose the Hornets while Michael Becker (John Jay NBA) came out with the Lakers. CSI came out of the gates slow but was only down seven after one quarter of action, 13-20. However, CSI only scored three points in the second quarter that gave Becker's Lakers team a 16-32 lead at the half. Becker then expanded their lead in the second half to win by a wide margin, shooting nearly 70% from the field. The second game was set to start when Shostak (CSI D) had to forfeit due to personal reasons.

In Xbox action, Shabarii Noiis (CSI S) came out red hot with the Bucks against Kevin S.'s (John Jay NBA) Nets who had a difficult time playing stellar defense which caused a lot of missed shots from an offensively stacked Nets team. As the game progressed, Noiis's (CSI S) Bucks team continued to assert dominance by controlling the entire pace of the game on both ends of the floor (offense and defense) which made the match very difficult for Kevin's (John Jay NBA) Nets as they were never able to get into any rhythm; CSI took game one with a final of, 65-35. In the second game, Noiis's (CSI S) selected the Lakers and Kevin S. (John Jay NBA) chose the Clippers. Very similar to the first game, Noiis (CSI S) started off the game with high momentum as he was dictating the pace of the game from the tip and the Noiis's (CSI S) Lakers defense made it very difficult for Kevin S. (John Jay NBA) to get in any sort of flow offensively. As the second half began, Noiis (CSI S) had a big lead with the score, 39-14. Noiis's (CSI S) Lakers continued their offensive and defensive onslaught. In the end, Noiis's (CSI S) Lakers defeated Kevin S.'s (John Jay NBA) Clippers, 68-37 giving CSI the win over John Jay, now 2-0 in Xbox play in ECAC.

Where CSI Stands: PS4:  CSI C: 1-1- Tied for 5th with five other teams | CSI D: 0-2 - Tied for 15th with three other teams.

This Week's Result: NYIT 3, CSI 0 (2-0, 1-0, 1-0)
Date:  Wednesday, February 10, 2021
Live Stream: CSI Twitch
Notes: CSI couldn't muster up much against the defending ECC Champions, as NYIT rolled to a 2-0 win on the Control map to det the tone for the rest of the match.  On the next map of Escort, CSI was to escort the payload first but a constant wave of defense from the Bears proved frustrating, as CSI could not get the load to the first point.  When play shifted, it didn't take long for NYIT to reach that first point and they were able to take a 2-0 lead overall by scoring that point.  In the final map, NYIT again prevented CSI from scoring and then in their turn of Assault, they were able to capture their point with just a minute left in the round, to win the round and the match in straight-sets.
Where CSI Stands: 1-1 | Tied for 15th place

Rocket League Logo White
This Week's Result: CSI 0, Post University 3 (2-1, 3-2, 2-1)
Date:  Wednesday, February 11, 2021
Live Stream: CSI Twitch
Notes: In a hard fought battle, CSI fell to Post University in their first Rocket League game action as part of the ECAC in a best of five format. The Dolphins started off slow offensively as they had to play defense for most of game one with Post's Jameison Wirta taking four of their total six shots and scoring one of their two goals. CSI's Alec Savino scored the lone goal for the Dolphins who also added three saves and three of CSI's six total shots in game one, however, it wasn't enough to lift the Dolphins as Post was stellar defensively throughout.

Game two was a thriller, as CSI led most of the way with a score of, 2-1 until a late goal tied the game for Post at 2-2. With great team defense from both schools the game went into a golden goal overtime scenario where Post's Dakota Lydem turbocharged a hard shot ball past the Dolphins defense to win the game, 3-2. CSI had nine shots total in the game two compared to Post's 12 shots. CSI's Maxim Kleyer and Savino scored a goal apiece and accounted for six of their total seven saves.

In game three the Dolphins jumped out to an early 1-0 lead within the first minute of action, off the wheels of CSI's Savino, who scored three of their total four goals in the match. CSI's lead would hold up until the last 30 seconds of action when Post scored two goals within 10 seconds of each other to steal the game and seal the match win for Post University with a final of 2-1.
Where CSI Stands: 1-1 | Tied for 12th with 13 other teams in Group B

This Week's Results:

CSI G 2, Saint Francis 1 (17-12, 14-16, 41-0)
CSI D 2, Muskingum 0 (47-28, 29-27)

Date:  Thursday, February 11, 2021
Live Streams: CSI G: CSI Twitch  |  CSI D: CSI Twitch
Notes: Both CSI teams were set to take on two tough opponents in Madden 21 (PS4) ECAC competition. In the first match-up it was CSI G (Greg Jensen) who chose the Ravens in game one versus Saint Francis (Landon Conner) who chose the Saints. Both teams in the opening quarter were struggling offensively as both their defenses refused to allow any points to get on the board and the majority of the game was on defense. Jensen would eventually get in field goal range to get on the board first in the second quarter with three points but what sparked a huge lead was the possession after as Conner would throw a pick six in back-to-back possessions that would give CSI G a, 17-0, lead going into the second half. Once the fourth quarter came around St. Francis's Conner tries to mount a comeback but ultimately falls short in game one losing, 17-12. In game two, Conner tried to even the odds this time as he chose the Buccaneers. However, Jensen scored a touchdown on the opening drive with a 36-yard run using the Ravens again, but once Conner took the field, he ran 74 yards down the field for a touchdown with Ronald Jones, keeping it a close game. Both teams played tough defense and kept it a close game, but Conner is was able to squeak out the win for Saint Francis, evening up the series 1-1. For the third and final game both teams chose the same teams, but the narrative of this game is nothing short of sheer dominance by Jensen and the Ravens as he scored 28 unanswered points in the first half playing suffocating defense coupled with an immaculate offense. Conner never found his flow in the game which led him to throwing six interceptions. The final score was 41-0 as CSI G wins the series 2-1 improving their record to 2-0.

For the second match of the night, it was CSI D (Daniel Shostak) who chose the Seahawks going up against Muskingum (Doug Atkins) who chose the Buccaneers. Through the entire series it was nothing but high-octane offense with back and forth scoring in the opening half making this a game you couldn't take your eyes off of. Once the second half started, Shostak eventually was able to pull away as the defense started grabbing interceptions left and right giving Shostak more chances to score in which he did making the final score, 47-28, giving CSI D the first game of the series. Both players decide to run it back with the same teams in game two. This game was very similar to the first as Jenson capitalized with a rapid first half offense. However, Atkins eventually was able to methodically pull ahead forcing Shostak to mount a comeback which he successfully completed by scoring a touchdown to bring the game to within one point, then he was able to kick the game winning field goal as CSI D won the game, 29-27, improving their record to 2-0.
Where CSI Stands: CSI G: 2-0 tied with 1st place with four other teams
CSI D: 2-0 tied at 1st place with four other teams
