SWIMMING & DIVING SCORES DECISIVE VICTORIES IN THIRD MEET OF SEASON

11/5/2022 10:00:00 PM

Staten Island, NY - The College of Staten Island Swimming & Diving Team scored three decisive victories in their meet against Mount St. Mary and Sarah Lawrence earlier today.  The CSI men defeated the men of Mount St. Mary 146-30 while the women defeated Mount St. Mary 113-72 and topped Sarah Lawrence 121-76.  The Dolphins men improve to 2-1 with the victory while a pair of wins for the women brings them to 3-1 on the season.

The Dolphin men came out of the gate strong and never looked back as they built a sizable lead over the Knights that was never in any jeopardy.  For the entirety of the meet, the Dolphins took first place in every event including all relays, diving, and individual events.  As for the women, the meet was much more competitive until diving scores were factored in.  Only the Dolphins had divers competing in the meet with Jordan Swanson and Kaylee Walter taking part in both 1 Meter and 3 Meter Diving for the women.  The advantage CSI gained through diving secured their lead, and they went on to take the win over both the Gryphons and Knights by at least 40 points.

Among the many highlights for the Dolphins during today's meet was a record-breaking effort for Brooke Manning in the 100 Yard Butterfly.  This follows up a record-breaking effort for Jordan Swanson on the diving boards last week and both efforts helped lead the Dolphins to victory.  While today's meet was contested against a pair of Division III opponents, the Dolphins next meet will come against Division I competition.  One week from today, the Dolphins men will travel to the SFC Aquatic Center in Brooklyn for a matchup with St. Francis College.
