MEETDAY: SWIMMING & DIVING FACES PACE UNIVERSITY IN FINAL MEET OF 2022

12/16/2022 8:00:00 AM

Pleasantville, NY - The College of Staten Island Swimming & Diving Team is on the road for the second consecutive week as they will take on Pace University in their final meet of the 2022 calendar year today at 2:00 PM.  The men of CSI and Pace enter the day with identical 2-3 records.  The women of CSI enter action 3-3 while the women of Pace are 4-2 on the year.

The two teams have a fairly extensive history and have competed in sixteen meets against one another, eight men's meets and eight women's meets.  The CSI men have gotten the better of the past matchups with five wins in the eight meets.  However, the Pace women have won seven of the eight previous matchups with CSI.  In the most recent meeting it was a decisive victory for the Pace women, but the men's meet came down to the final relay.  Following a win in the meet's final event, the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay, Pace was able to overtake CSI and won the meet by a single point. 116-115.

Last time out, the Dolphins failed to secure a win in a tri-meet against Montclair State and Felician.  The men competed only against the Red Hawks while the women competed against both Montclair and Felician. Several CSI men finished in the top three across a variety of individual events and Jordan Swanson secured another decisive win for the women in Diving.  For the Setters, their last outing saw both the men and women lose to Southern Connecticut State University.  For the men, the loss was their third of the season, and for the women, the loss was their first in their last five meets.
