MEETDAY: SWIMMING & DIVING FACES PACE FOR FIRST TIME SINCE JOINING NE-10

12/16/2023 5:00:00 AM

Pleasantville, NY - The College of Staten Island Swimming & Diving Team will be back in action following two weeks off later this afternoon as they compete in their final NE-10 meet of the season against Pace University.  The Dolphins held their first head-to-head NE-10 meet against Adelphi University earlier this season, and face Southern Connecticut State University two weekends ago.  The CSI men enter today's meet 3-4 and the CSI women enter today's meet 3-6.  For the Setters, the men are 0-4 and the women are 3-6 on the season.

The Dolphins and Setters have extensive history against one another with each side getting the better of one side of those meets.  For the men, the Dolphins have had much more success when these two teams have faced off as they are 6-2-1 against Pace.  Since becoming a Division II program, the Dolphins are 1-1 against the Setters including a win last season.  Two years ago, the Setters defeated the Dolphins by just a single point.

On the women's side, the Setters have won all but one of nine meets against the Dolphins in the history of the two programs.  The lone win for the Dolphins came back in the 2007-2008 season in the first-ever meeting between the two sides.

The Dolphins have been a consistent presence in the NE-10 Weekly Reports all season, but have been out of action for the since the beginning of the month.  Edna Melendez, Jordan Swanson, Michael Graham, and William Kwan have all won individual accolades from the conference and the CSI women took home Relay of the Week for their performance at the CSI Invite.
