Staten Island, NY - The College of Staten Island Swimming & Diving Team scored three wins in their season opener earlier today.  First, the CSI men scored two victories over Mount Saint Mary College and FDU-Florham.  The women defeated the Knights and lost to the Devils.  The CSI men open the season 2-0 and the women begin 1-1.  Both the men and women of Mount Saint Mary fall to 1-2.  The men of FDU-Florham begin their season 1-1 and the women get off to a 2-0 start.

The first CSI victory of the meet came in the Men's 200 Yard Medley Relay with two separate squads taking the top two spots.  The men would score another victory in individual competition shortly after as Anthony Attenborough took the top spot in the 1000 Free with a time of 10:58.20.  In the event that followed, Nicole Conroy placed third in the 200 Free for the women while three Dolphins, Elliot Radov, James Curran, and Yassin Hussein, placed second, third, and fourth for the men.

In the 50 Free, Jessica Johnson finished a fraction of a second off the first-place pace with a time of 25:09, good for second.  In the same event for the men, Andi Bajollari took first with a time of 22:63.  In the 200 IM, Aurelia Barbagallo finished 1.5 seconds behind the first-place pace.  Meanwhile, three Dolphins took the top spots in that event for the CSI men, William Kwan, Julian Lopez, and David Fayngersh.  The Dolphins also took first-place points across all diving events led by Jordan Swanson, Matt Bernstein, and Josiah Rivera.

In the 100 Fly, Barbagallo missed first by .02 seconds and the CSI men once again swept the top three spots in that event.  Nicholas Tartaglione took first, Dylan Martinson second, and Hussein third.  Katherine Ebrahim also earned the CSI women second place points in the 100 Free.  Radov earned second in the 100 Free for the men and three Dolphins took the top spots for the men in the 100 Back.  Vlad Sinyagovskiy, Bojallari, and Lopez took first, second and third.

In the 500 Free, Morgan Novello took second for the women and Attenborough took first for the men.  Johnson also earned a win for the CSI women in the 100 Breast and Fayngersh took first in that same event for the men.  Finally, in the 400 Yard Free Relay the CSI women took second and the men took first.

The Dolphins are back home next Friday when they host Adelphi University and Felician University at 4:00 PM.
