WATCH CSI STUNT COMPETE IN THEIR FIRST-EVER SCRIMMAGE AGAINST MISERICORDIA

Dallas, PA - The College of Staten Island STUNT Team took part in their first scrimmage on Wednesday night as they traveled to Dallas, Pennsylvania for a matchup with Misericordia University. For the Dolphins, the growth of the STUNT program began to accelerate last season, and now the team gets the chance to showcase the product of that growth for the first time. While the CSI Cheerleading program has been around for many years and collected numerous conference championships as part of the CUNYAC, Wednesday's event was a huge step for the newly-formed STUNT program. The Dolphins were four-time conference champions in the CUNYAC including titles in 2003, 2012, 2018, and 2019, and with the rapid growth of STUNT throughout the country, the Dolphins hope Wednesday's scrimmage serves as the foundation for similar success of the STUNT program in the future. *STUNT, one of the fastest growing female sports in the country, removes the crowd-leading element and focuses on the technical and athletic components of cheer, including partner stunts, pyramids, basket tosses, group jumps and tumbling. These elements are put together in short routines that both teams must perform head-to-head on the floor at the same time. The team that executes the skills best wins the round and the point, and has the opportunity to determine which of routine level will be called next. With four quarters of play – partner stunts, pyramids & tosses, jumps & tumbling, and team routine – STUNT is an exciting sport to play, coach and watch.
