AMHERST, NY – The College of Staten Island women's soccer team wrapped up its 2025 season on Saturday afternoon in Amherst, N.Y., against East Coast Conference (ECC) opponents Daemen University at Royal Park. The Dolphins battled hard on the pitch but ultimately fell, 3–0, to the Wildcats to close out their year.
Rachael Charsky sparked the Dolphins' offense early, recording the first shot attempt of the match for either side, though it sailed wide. Goalkeeper Oksana Zahirna, who this season became CSI's all-time leader in saves in a game across both the Division III and Division II eras, continued her impressive campaign with an early stop to keep the match scoreless. However, the Wildcats soon gained momentum, stringing together three consecutive shots, one of which found the back of the net to give them a 1–0 lead.
Just three minutes later, Daemen struck again, heading into halftime with a 2–0 advantage.
Much like the first half, the Dolphins opened the second frame with the first shot attempt, this time from Annika Jurik, who forced a save from the Daemen keeper. By the 61st minute, the Wildcats added a third goal and held the Dolphins scoreless to secure the ECC victory.
On the day, Jurik led CSI with three shots, two on goal, followed by Caitlyn Thompson with two. Zahirna started in net, registering nine saves, while Brianna Dore closed out the match and her collegiate career with two saves in the second half.
The Dolphins finish the 2025 season with a 3–11–2 overall record and a 1–5–1 mark in ECC play.
