STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – The College of Staten Island men's and women's swimming and diving teams have been making waves at The Tank since their season opener on October 4. Last week, the Dolphins took on Pace University, while the women's squad also faced CUNYAC opponent Hunter College in a tri-meet. The competition brought record-breaking performances from both teams, earning them Northeast 10 (NE10) Weekly Awards.

Maria Janecka collected her second NE10 Rookie of the Week honor after a standout showing against the Setters and Hawks. The Poland native competed in the 100 butterfly, 200 freestyle, 100 freestyle, and the 200 medley relay, shattering the school record in the 100 butterfly with a time of 59.92. She also claimed victories in the 200 freestyle (1:59.25) and 100 freestyle (54.51) to cap an impressive meet.

On the men's side, Yubal Parra earned his third consecutive Diver of the Week award after breaking his own records in both the 1M and 3M (6-Dive) events against Pace. Parra posted a 404.45 on the 1M board, then followed with a 396.10 on the 3M, highlighted by a perfect 10 on one of his final dives, resetting both of his previous program records.

The men's and women's swimming and diving teams will be on the road to finish the first half of the 2025-26 campaign starting with a tri-meet with Sarah Lawerence and Mount Saint Mary (NY) on Saturday Nov. 8 at 1:00 PM in Bronxville, NY.
