11/8/2025 8:00:00 AM

BRONXVILLE, NY -  The College of Staten Island men's and women's swimming and diving teams will hit the road for the first time this season as they visit Bronxville, NY for a tri-meet with host Sarah Lawrence College (SLC) and Mount Saint Mary College (MSMC).

The Dolphins and Gryphons first met in 2014 on the men's side and met for the first time on the women's side the following year.  The CSI men took the victory over Sarah Lawrence in the 2014 meet and in each meet that followed through the 2017-2018 season.  The CSI women were defeated by SLC each season from 2014-2015 through the 2018-2019 campaign.  The men finally suffered their first loss to the Gryphons in 2019 while the women earned their first win the following season in 2020.  The CSI women then picked up a win over SLC in 2022-2023, the last time the two programs met.  The CSI men also won their most recent meeting with the Gryphons in 2020.  After losing to MSMC in their first-ever meeting in 2017-2018, the CSI men have earned a win against the Knights each of the six seasons since.  The women lost their first two matchups with the Knights, but they enter today's meet looking for their sixth straight win over MSMC.

In the NE10 Weekly Awards, the Dolphins once again received multiple accolades.  Earning a second Rookie of the Week was Maria Janceka.  Competing against Hunter and Pace, she shattered the school record in the 100 butterfly with a time of 59.92.  She also took first in the 200 freestyle (1:59.25) and 100 freestyle (54.51).  Yubal Parra once again claimed NE10 Diver of the Week recognition for the men after breaking his own records in both the 1M and 3M events.  The honor was his third straight Diver of the Week award to open the season.
