INDOOR TRACK AND FIELD FINISHES FINAL MEET UNTIL THE NEW YEAR AT THE SEAHAWK SHOOTOUT

STATEN ISLAND, NY – The College of Staten Island men's and women's indoor track and field teams returned to the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in Staten Island, NY on Friday afternoon to compete in the Seahawk Shootout, hosted by Wagner College.

The Dolphins delivered strong performances throughout the meet, highlighted by three additional school records falling after four were broken the previous week, along with several personal bests.

Dominik Hric accounted for the lone individual record of the meet for CSI, setting a new mark in the weight throw with a distance of 12.16 meters. He placed 15th overall out of 43 competitors and finished fourth in his flight of 15. On the men's side, Steven Elcock, Karran Riley, Akeem Pollard, and KJ Ede broke the school record in the 4x400m relay, posting a time of 3:21.95 to finish fifth out of 32 teams.

The women also set a record in the 4x400mrelay, as Adonijah Washington, Jacqueline Washington, Kayla Larsen, and Madison Jackson combined for a time of 4:19.54.

Five personal bests were recorded during the meet. Freshman Zaria Dinkins won her flight in the weight throw with a personal-best mark of 9.60 meters on her opening attempt. Continuing in the field events, Larsen added another personal best in the long jump with a leap of 4.36 meters. Mahawa Kouyate rounded out the women's personal bests by finishing the 1,000m race in 3:29.28.

On the men's side, all personal bests came in the mile. Peter Galletta led the Dolphins with a time of 4:53.15, followed by Kevin Deyo at 5:05.50 and Walter Gavilanes at 5:16.93.

The CSI men's and women's indoor track and field teams will return to action in the new year on January 9 at the Spartan Invitational, hosted by St. Thomas Aquinas College at Ocean Breeze.
