RACKY KANE BEATS THE BUZZER TO LIFT THE DOLPHINS OVER AIC

STATEN ISLAND, NY – The College of Staten Island women's basketball team hosted American International College (AIC) in a non-conference matchup Wednesday evening at the Tank. After being held in check during a tough second quarter, the Dolphins rallied in the final stanza, capped by a buzzer-beating tip-in from Racky Kane to secure a thrilling 65–63 victory.

CSI came out strong in the opening quarter, building a 24–16 advantage behind a 10–3 run. Arielle Barnes gave the Dolphins their largest lead of the period with a basket in the paint, while Jasanii Francis-Torres pushed CSI past the 20-point mark with a midrange jumper late in the quarter.

Momentum swung in the second quarter as the Yellowjackets locked down defensively, holding the Dolphins to just two points in the frame. AIC capitalized by scoring 16 points to take a 32–26 lead into halftime, with Francis-Torres accounting for CSI's lone basket.

The Dolphins responded coming out of the break, outscoring AIC 23–21 in the third quarter to pull back within striking distance. Shonyae Edmonds sparked the offense early, followed by baskets from Barnes, Kane, Kyra Rose, and Giuliana Dito. Edmonds brought CSI within one before Dito knocked down a three-pointer to give the Dolphins a 44–42 lead. AIC answered with a late push, reclaiming the advantage and entering the fourth quarter ahead, 53–49.

The final period featured a tightly contested finish. Despite baskets from Kane and Rose, AIC maintained a narrow lead, holding a 63–61 edge with under a minute remaining. Barnes tied the game at 63 with 30 seconds left, and after a timeout from head coach Nicole Sarcone, the Dolphins forced a Yellowjacket turnover. With 11 seconds on the clock, Edmonds' corner attempt came up short, but Kane crashed the right side and tipped in the game-winner as time expired to seal the 65–63 win.

Kane led all scorers with 16 points, adding six rebounds, four assists, one block, and one steal. Rose finished with 15 points, seven rebounds, and five assists, while Barnes contributed 13 points and two steals. Edmonds rounded out the double-figure scorers with 11 points and a team-high eight rebounds.

The Dolphins improve to 4–7 on the season and will continue non-conference play on the road Saturday afternoon, traveling to Pleasantville, NY to face Pace University at 1:30 PM.
