ZAHIRNA SHATTERS SAVES IN A GAME RECORD AGAINST SAINT MICHAEL'S

ALBANY, NY - The College of Staten Island women's soccer team traveled to Albany, NY, on Wednesday afternoon to face RV Saint Michael's College. In the match, Dolphins goalkeeper Oksana Zahirna set a new program record with 22 saves, marking the highest single-game total in CSI's Division II and Division III era.

CSI battled the Purple Knights for 90 minutes but ultimately fell by a 3-0 final with Rachael Charsky leading the offensive push for the Dolphins. In the second half, Saint Michael's tallied 30 shots, with Zahirna stopping 17 of them and allowing only two goals.

With today's result, the Dolphins move to 1-2-1 on the season, while the Purple Knights improve to 6-0. CSI will return to Dolphin Soccer Park on Saturday, Sept. 20, to open conference play against Roberts Wesleyan at 12:00 PM.
