MEET DAY: SWIM AND DIVE HOST BROOKLYN COLLEGE ON SENIOR DAY AND FINAL HOME MEET

1/21/2026 9:00:00 AM

STATEN ISLAND, NY -  The College of Staten Island men's and women's swimming and diving teams will host their final home meet of the 2025–26 season Wednesday evening at The Tank, welcoming Brooklyn College.

Five Dolphin Seniors to Be Honored

Prior to the national anthem, CSI will recognize five senior swimmers competing in their final home meet. Katarina Tsirlin will be honored on the women's side, while the men's seniors include William Kwan, Eslam Hussein, Dylan Martinson, and Vlad Siniagovskii.

19th Meeting in Series History

The Dolphins and Bulldogs have met numerous times over the years, including during CSI's tenure in the CUNYAC. The two programs first faced off during the 1999–2000 season on the women's side, when the Dolphins suffered their lone loss in the series, a narrow 57–55 decision. Since then, CSI has dominated the matchup, scoring over 100 points in nearly every meeting, including last season's decisive 114–45 victory.

On the men's side, the programs first met in the 2000–01 season, with CSI rattling off six consecutive wins through the 2012–13 campaign. The Dolphins' most recent loss to Brooklyn came in the 2019–20 season, falling 118–106. Last year, however, CSI reclaimed control with a commanding 152–36 win.

Diving Records Shattered

CSI's diving standouts Jacqueline DeFranco and Yubal Parra, both currently ranked among the top six divers in the Northeast10 (NE10), rewrote the program record in the 3-meter (11-dive) event during Monday afternoon's meet against Baruch College. DeFranco posted a score of 399.25, while Parra set the new standard with a 537.25.

Team Comparisons

Entering Wednesday's meet, the CSI men's team holds a 4–5 record, while the women stand at 4–6. Brooklyn College comes in with an 8–1 record on the men's side and a 3–8 mark for the women.
