SWIMMING AND DIVING SELECTED TO CSCAA DII FALL SCHOLAR ALL-AMERICA TEAMS

STATEN ISLAND, NY (JAN. 20, 2026) - The College of Staten Island Athletics Department wrapped up their Fall semester with a 3.230 GPA with 14 student-athletes posting a 4.0 GPA. On Tuesday, Jan. 20, the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) released their 2025 Fall Scholar All-American Teams for NCAA Division, I, Division II, and Division III as well as NAIA and junior college and community college institutions where the Dolphins were listed on both Men's and Women's Division II teams. 

This distinction represents the highest academic honor awarded by the CSCAA and is presented by Fitter & Faster Swim Camps, recognizing programs that exemplify excellence in the classroom while competing at the highest levels of collegiate sport. In total, 709 teams representing 16,421 student-athletes earned Scholar All-America recognition for their outstanding academic performance. To qualify, each team was required to post a team cumulative grade point average of 3.00 or higher during the Fall 2025 semester, reflecting a sustained commitment to academic excellence alongside competitive achievement.

The CSI women's swimming and diving team led the department with a 3.722 GPA, while the men recorded a 3.240 GPA. Aurelia Barbagallo earned a perfect 4.0 GPA on the women's side, and Hassan Matar led the men with a 3.925 GPA.
