FLUSHING, NY – The College of Staten Island baseball team travels to Flushing on Friday afternoon to continue East Coast Conference (ECC) play against Queens University. The Dolphins are seeking their first conference win of the season, while the Knights enter the matchup at 1-3 after earning a victory over Molloy last Friday.

2025 Series Recap: Dolphins Take Regular Season Series, 3-1

Last season, the Dolphins secured a 3-1 regular season series win over the Knights, taking three straight games from March 29–30. In the series opener on March 28 in Flushing, Queens earned a 9-3 victory. The following day, however, the action shifted to Staten Island, where the Dolphins responded with a doubleheader sweep, winning 11-10 and 8-6.

The Dolphins carried that momentum into March 30, completing the series win with another 8-6 victory. A four-run top of the ninth inning, led by key returners Jack Kehoe, Jaden Waterman, and Jandel Brito, sealed the win.

The two teams met again in the postseason on May 9, with the Dolphins' season on the line in their first-ever ECC tournament appearance. Despite Staten Island's regular season success, Queens advanced, limiting the Dolphins to one run in an 8-1 decision.

All-Time Series

The two CUNY programs share a history dating back to 1978, when the Dolphins earned their first win over the Knights, 9-4. The teams met regularly over the next 12 seasons before pausing competition prior to Staten Island's transition to Division II in 2021.

Since rejoining as Division II opponents, the Dolphins' 2025 performance marked their strongest showing in the series, though Queens holds a 14-6 edge since 2021. Overall, the Knights lead the all-time series, 25-11.
