UNIONDALE, NY – The College of Staten Island baseball team closed out its 2026 regular season at Mitchel Field on Saturday afternoon, falling to Molloy University, 19-6.
The Dolphins entered the matchup coming off a game-two victory on Friday that snapped a seven-game losing streak to the Lions. Molloy responded on Saturday, however, handing CSI the loss and ending the Dolphins' season with a 14-29 overall record and a 9-21 mark in East Coast Conference play.
CSI struck first in the top of the opening inning as Jack Kehoe reached base and advanced to second on a walk. He later came around to score on a Molloy fielding error, giving the Dolphins a 1-0 lead. The Lions answered immediately with an eight-run bottom half of the inning to take control, 8-1.
The Dolphins were held scoreless until the fifth inning, trailing 12-1 at the time. Jamel Vera led off with a single, and Jaden Waterman drove him in with two outs to get CSI back on the board. JJ Hunter followed with a double to move Waterman into scoring position, and Michael Flashner delivered an RBI single to cut the deficit to 12-3.
Molloy kept CSI off the scoreboard over the next few innings before the Dolphins added three runs in the ninth. Kehoe reached base again to start the frame, and the bases were loaded after Daniel McLaughlin was hit by a pitch and Jason Romance drew a walk. Hunter drove in a run, while Flashner and Christopher Reilly each recorded RBI to account for the final runs of the season.
Flashner led the Dolphins offensively, going 2-2 with two RBI and two walks. Vera, Kehoe, Waterman, Romance, and Reilly each added a hit in the effort.
