Melanie D’Ambosi was named the College of Staten Island’s Player of the month for January. D’Ambrosi is a 5-5 junior guard who has made a huge impact on the Dolphins since she’s been here.
 
With a 9-1 CUNYAC record and 15-6 overall record, D’Ambrosi has been a part of CSI’s success. She averages 13.8 points per game, shooting a solid 42%. She also averages 4.05 rebounds and 3.25 assists per game.
 
 
D’Ambrosi started the month leading her team to victory over York College with 22 points, shooting 3-4 from three-point range and 5-5 from the charity line. A week later, in CSI’s close 69-65 win over Hunter, D’Ambrosi contributed 12 points and seven assists. With a lopsided win over City Tech, she led all players in steals, tallying eight. Closing out the team’s January schedule with a triumph over Medgar Evers, D’Ambrosi affixed 16 points, 8 rebounds and had a team high over six assists.
 
 
With three more CUNYAC matches left in the season, D’Ambrosi will look to assist her team into the post-season and eventually to the championship.
