College of Staten Island Athletics

Joe Lee of the Men’s Swimming and Diving team was named the College of Staten Island’s Male Athlete of the Month. With just a few meets under his belt here at CSI, Lee has already garnered a CUNY Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week honor.

Kicking of CUNYAC play with a win against Baruch College, Lee contributed with two first place finishes and a second place finish in the 200 Medley Relay. Lee finished the 200 IM in 2:04.32 and the 100 Yard Freestyle in 49.48.

On November 23^rd, against SUNY-Maritime, Lee took three gold medals. He conquered the 200 Freestyle with a time of 1:49.30 and the 100 Freestyle with a time of 49.35. The team of Lee, Pavel Buyanov, Mohamed Hikal and Nikolay Shevchenko captured first in the 400 Medley Relay coming in at 5:57.16.

The men’s swimming and diving team is currently undefeated with a 3-0 record.
