The CUNYAC Preseason Player of the Year, Nicholas Defonte has been named the CSI Male Athlete of the Week for the week of January 29.  Nick swept his events in the pool in CSI's lone meet against York College this past week.  First, he was a part of the 200-yard Medley Relay against York taking the first leg split of 27.52, helping his team grab first place.  Then individually, Defonte took the 200-yard Freestyle with a time of 1:56.47 by over 35 seconds.  He then won the 100-yard Backstroke by over 18 seconds with a sub one-minute time of 58.54.  For the season, he is second on the squad with 269 points and 13 first-place finishes.
