Men and Women's Swimming grabbed victories over Brooklyn College on Wednesday evening. The men defeated the first year Bulldogs 126-73 while the women won by a score of 103-82.
Gabriella Villaruel led the Dolphins with two golden wins. Her 13:39.77 finish was good enough for first in the 1000 Yard Freestyle while her time of 1:10.03 in the 100 Yard Butterfly earned her a 1st place win as well.
Freshman Jessica Pifalo took first place in the 100 Yard Backstroke with a time of 1:13.72. Also a freshman, Elaine Lei earned a first place win in the 100 Yard Breaststroke with a finish of 1:29.98.
On the men's side, Vladislav Romanov, Pavel Buyanov and Joe Lee all earned three gold medal victories. Romanov finished first in the 1000 Yard Freestyle with a time of 10:24.18, six minutes faster then the second place win. He finished with a time of 53.40 in the 100 Backstroke. Buyanov had a 23.46 time in the 50 yard freestyle while his time of 56.05 in the 100 Yard Breaststroke was the only finish under one minute. Lee touched in with a time of 2:05.60 in the 200 Yard IM and 59.80 in the 100 Butterfly.
The three along with Mohammed Hikal (who finished first in the 100 Freestyle with a time of 57.45) took first place in the 200 Yard Medley Relay with a time of 1:47.
The teams will pick up competition again in the New Year on January 6 against York College in Jamaica, New York at 6:00 pm.
