CITY TECH BREAKS DOLPHINS UNDEFEATED CONFERENCE RECORD WITH 78-72 WIN

The Yellow Jackets of City Tech defeated the CSI men on Friday evening, 78-72. The Dolphins took their first conference loss dropping 9-1 while City Tech extended to a 3-8 record.
 
City Tech shot 39% from the field hitting just 2-of-9 three point goals while the Dolphins were just below with a 31% field goal percentage and 2-for-10 from three point range. Despite shooting well from free throw range, 9-for-11, the Dolphins were down by one to end the half, 32-31.
 
City Tech had a much better percentage from the field in the second half shooting 46.7% to CSI's 36.8%. The Dolphins had a hard time with three pointers hitting just 3-of-16.
 
CSI out rebounded the Yellow Jackets 52 to 38. Both teams finished with 18 turnovers apiece.
 
The Dolphins were led by TJ Tibbs' 20 points and 10 rebounds. Freshman Matt Van Manen totaled 16 points to go with 11 rebounds. Jordan Young added 15 points.
 
Nathaniel Young led the Yellow Jackets with 23 points and 10 rebounds. Ryan Alvarado and Kashaun Henry added 21 points each.
 
CSI is back in action Monday, February 7 as they host York College for a 7:30 pm contest. The game is part of CSI's Faculty and Staff Appreciation Night.
