A day after falling in a dual meet to Baruch College, the CSI Dolphins scored a pair of victories on Friday night over York College in Jamaica, New York, as part of CUNYAC action. The CSI men scored a 67-23 win while the women improved to 6-1 with a 67-14 win.
On the women's side of the pool, CSI's
Dakota Dawkins and
Jessica Pifalo each picked up three first place wins. Dawkins made her mark in the 200 Medley Relay (2:37.79), 100 Breaststroke (1:31.44) and the 200 Free Relay (2:16.67). Pifalo joined Dawkins in the 200 Medley Relay, and then earned two solo wins in the 200 Individual Medley (2:54.54) and 100 Butterfly (1:26.52).
Andrey Tarasov was a catalyst on the men's side. He scored gold in the 200 Freestyle with a time of 2:09.95, and then in the 100 Backstroke (1:07.38) and 100 Breaststroke (1:11.47).
Yury Zimarev also completed the trifecta, scoring gold in the 50 Freestyle (25.12), 100 Butterfly (59.24), and the 200 Freestyle Relay (2:03.30).
CSI will return to action on Friday, January 11, 2013, when they host their final home meet of the season against Lehman College at 6pm.
