Box Score The College of Staten Island women's basketball team used an early surge to pull well-ahead of Lehman College, then survived a second-half Lightning flurry, to score a 67-53 win as part of CUNYAC play tonight at the Apex Arena in the Bronx, New York. CSI improved to 7-6 overall, including 4-1 in the CUNYAC, while Lehman dropped to 1-11, 1-3, respectively.
Lehman held a modest 2-1 lead in the early stages before CSI on a 15-0 run to take a commanding 16-2 edge that it would never relinquish. CSI sophomore was a catalyst in the run, scoring a trio of baskets including a three-pointer.
CSI later advanced their lead to 21 points in the first half on a 
Megan Myhre three, before LC's Jennifer Navarro canned a three as time expired in the frame, giving CSI a 38-20 halftime advantage.
The Dolphins were seemingly in control, and expanded their lead to as many as 22 points on two separate occasions before Lehman started to chip away. A 16-5 run spanning nearly 10 minutes by the Lightning, culminating in a Keonti Powell three got Lehman to within 9, 49-40, with just over eight minutes to play.
CSI held together, however, going on an immediate 8-0 run powered by Myhre and 
Olivia Tierno three's to get the big lead back. This time CSI stayed the course en route to a 13 point final.
CSI was led by Fabozzi's 16 points to go with seven rebounds, while Myhre added 13 and 
Melanie Johnson 12. Lehman was led by Powell's game-high 18 points. CSI out-rebounded LC, 48-42, and forced 27 Lightning turnovers.
The Dolphins, who snapped a mini two-game slide, will next be in action on Saturday, when they host Medgar Evers College at 12 Noon at the Sports & Recreation Center.
