The College of Staten Island is slated to take on York College in a men's and women's swim meet tonight at 6pm in the Sports & Recreation Center.
The men are perfect in the CUNYAC with a 3-0 record and will look to stay that way with a win over York College tonight. The men have clinched first place in the CUNYAC already by way of beating three of the four teams within the CUNYAC, with their final CUNYAC meet tonight. The women are sitting in fourth place with a 5-4 overall record and a 3-2 record in the CUNYAC. Tonight they have a chance to improve their placement to third place with a win over York College and with a Brooklyn loss to Baruch.
The men have one thing on their mind and that is to get this victory tonight to claim the CUNYAC Regular Season title, and on top of that be able to say they did so in convincing matter by not losing a single conference game all season.
John Pignatelli will look to continue his strong diving season by taking first place in the 1M and 3M dives.
Timothy Sweeney will also want to take the top spot in all three of his events, which consist of the 50-yard Free, 100-yard Fly, and the 100-yard Breaststroke.
The CSI women's team will want to improve their standing tonight against the Cardinals as the regular season starts to come to an end. Swimmers to watch will be
Stephanie Collyer as she'll try to dive her way to victory in the 1M and 3M dives alongside
April Bartlett. Both
Hunter Dawkins and
Dakota Dawkins will look to dominate both of their events to assist the Dolphins in their final push towards third place.
York's men's team on the other hand will be trying to salvage what's rest of their season as they are currently on a two game losing streak and have just one win all season. The women are also struggling this season as they have yet to record a win all season. Also they only average 28 points per meet compared to the Dolphins' 91 points per meet.
