The College of Staten Island men's and women's swimming and diving teams got back to action after a lengthy break this evening, and took a lopsided sweep over York College as part of CUNYAC play in Queens, NY.  The CSI men won 144.5 to 28.5, and the women scored a 118-40 win.

The Dolphin men (4-3, 2-1 CUNYAC) took first place in every event, including three uncontested heats.  The Dolphins swept the 800-meter Freestyle with a gold for Danila Novikov (10:50.29 and Chris Barros and Nick Giasemis also placing.  Tim Sweeny followed with a win by over 30 seconds in the 200-meter Freestyle (2:02.94), and then, new face Roberto Hildago scored the first of two first-place finishes with a win in the 50-meter Freestyle.  He would later add a victory in 100-meter Breaststroke competition.

Novikov and Sweeney added another individual win, and Derek Villa recorded a pair of wins as well.

The same followed through on the women's side, as CSI won first place in all 11 events.  Ewa Wojciechowska, Dakota Dawkins, Kelly Walsh and Victoria Crea all scored a pair of first place finishes in individual races.  In the 200-meter Freestyle, Wojciechowska won her event by a comfortable 48 seconds (2:23.50), and Dawkins followed with a 19-second win in the 200-meter Individual Medley.  Locked in a tight race in the 100-meter Breaststroke, Walsh was a close race over YC's Marissa Buchanan, coming in at a time of 1:24.60.

Up next for CSI will be a meet against Lehman College on Tuesday, January 13, at 5pm at the Sports & Recreation Center.
