Box Score The College of Staten Island men's volleyball team broke up their six-game slide on Tuesday evening, scoring a 3-0 win over Medgar Evers in their CUNYAC finale played in Brooklyn.  CSI won by scores of 25-18, 25-12, and 25-21 to secure the victory.  The win sent CSI to 6-20 overall and 5-11 within the conference, sending the Cougars to 2-23, 1-15.

The Dolphins scattered 13 kills in the opening set, a 25-18 win.  The balanced attack drew significant contributions from Dewayne Stewart and Brian Sheydvasser.  CSI had an easier go in the second game, spreading out 9 kills against just a single error, boasting an attack percentage of .444.

In the most heavily contested game, CSI posted 12 kills while MEC collected seven, as CSI outlasted the Cougars by four, 25-21.  The Dolphins again were crisp, collecting a .250 attack percentage.

Stewart would end up leading the squad with 8 kills on the evening.  Sheydvasser finished with 6 kills and a team-best three service aces.  Philip Szumanski tallied 19 assists, while Song Shin Low led the way with six defensive digs.  Jamal Chance was the catalyst for the Cougars.  He posted a team-best six kills, 11 digs, and 5 blocks.

CSI is back in action on Friday when they travel to Stevens Tech for a tri-match with Stevens and Kean University, beginning at 1pm.
