DOLPHINS FALL SHORT OF REGULAR SEASON TITLE, 3-6.

The College of Staten Island men's tennis team conceded their second loss in a row this afternoon, suffering a 6-3 loss to CUNYAC rivals Baruch College in a CUNYAC match that was for the regular season title.  The win moved the Bearcats to 6-3 while the Dolphins fell to 6-3.

The Dolphins fell behind early after the duo of Ed Ruffe and Andrew Adia lost, 8-3, followed shortly after by an, 8-5, loss by Chris Pinto and Raymond Hwang.  The Dolphins were able to secure a win on court two with Austin Kapetanakis and Chris Livoti outscoring the Bearcats, 8-3.

When the play turned to singles the Bearcats quickly won two matches from the No. 1 spot and the No. 4 spot.  The Dolphins didn't go away quietly however, as Hwang would keep the Dolphins in the match winning, 7-5, and, 6-3, from the No. 6 spot.

The regular season title would be ripped out of the Dolphins' hands when Pinto was downed in the No. 5 spot which was followed by another loss from the No. 2 spot to give the Bearcats a, 6-2, lead.  Kapetanakis down early in the match was able to tie it up at one set a piece before eventually winning, 6-4, in the final set.
