CSI GAMEDAY: MEN'S BASKETBALL VS. BARUCH, 7:30PM

The red-hot College of Staten Island men's basketball is wrapping up their road tour tonight with another important conference test, and will look to keep rolling when they match up with Baruch College this evening at 7:30pm.  The Dolphins have won seven-straight coming in and have not lost in the new year.  Meanwhile, the Bearcats are looking to avenge a loss to the Dolphins just three weeks ago on CSI's floor, and are looking to keep a win streak of their own intact.

All-Time Series: CSI leads 51-20
Last Meeting: January 4, 2017 - CSI won 77-68
Players To Watch (CSI): Frank Schettino just wrapped up his third-straight CUNYAC Player of the Week honor and continues to pace CSI with 17.7 points per game to go with a national best 168 total assists.  Schettino exploded for 43 points against CCNY last Friday, a mark that tied his own school record for points in a single game.  The last time these two teams squared off, Kevon Murphy scored a career high 28 points.  He is averaging 12.7 this season and is third on the squad with 6.7 rebounds per contest as well.  Look for reserve guards Christian Taylor and Darryl Bryant to play a role.  Both were unavailable for the earlier meeting this season and are combining for just over 10 points per game.
Players To Watch (BC):  Chimaechi Ekekeugbor is the clear leader for the Bearcats, as he is averaging a healthy 18.2 points to go with 9.7 rebounds per game.  He is also second on the team in assists and blocks and is shooting 40% from long range this season.  Bryler Paige and William Sixsmith are back court sharpshooters who have combined for 60 three pointers and 17 points per contest.  Look for them to keep the CSI perimeter defense honest tonight.  Allen Villar has been a nice option off of the bench this season, averaging 6.2 points and 4.1 rebounds in 16 minutes of work per game.
News & Notes: CSI's earlier season win over Baruch was the third straight win in the series for the Dolphins, after Baruch had taken two in a row in the series.  This has been a tough place to play for CSI, however, as they are just 14-12 all-time against Baruch on the road.  Outside of this arena, CSI is 36-8 all-time against the Bearcats.  CSI is doing a terrific job of getting to the free-throw line this season.  They are 5th in the nation in free-throw attempts and their interior play has led to 40.7 rebounds per game and their 774 total rebounds are ranked third nationally.  CSI is a +4.8 in rebound differential.  The Dolphins have won their last six games when they record five or more rebounds more than their opponent, and that included the game against Baruch earlier this year.  The Dolphins have also won their last seven games when recording 25+ free-throws per game.  Meanwhile, Baruch is getting it done with defense.  They are ranked 15th nationally yielding only 38.9% shooting from the field.  That's a comfortable number, as Baruch is 8-0 when holding opponents to under 39% from the floor.  The same holds true for their season average of 65.8 points yielded per game.  Baruch is 9-0 when holding opponents below their season average, and are just 5-4 when they do not.   CSI's Schettino is on a national tear.  He leads the nation in total assists and is second in assists per game, leads the nation in free-throw attempts, and is ranked third in the nation in total steals.
