The College of Staten Island men's tennis team got off to a tough start to the 2017 campaign, dropping a straight-set loss to Yeshiva University at the Binghamton Racquet Club in Edgewater, NJ, in what was the season-opener for both sides.  The Dolphins open the season 0-1, while the Maccabees get off to a 1-0 start.

Play started with doubles and Yeshiva got off to a blazing start.  Adam Rosemblaum and Mikey Ozery defeated CSI's No. 1 team of Andrew Adia and Matthew Vesci, 8-2, while in the second peg the team of Lior Brik and Eric Cohen scored an 8-4 winner over Chris Pinto and Raymond Hwang.  David Elon Papis and Eitan Rudansky scored an 8-0 winner at No. 3 over Alex Tsui and Akaki Dundua.

When play switched over to singles, Yeshiva continued the dominating performance.  Papis and Rosemblaum scored identical 6-2, 6-2 wins at first and secong singles, respectively, over CSI's Adia and Vesci.  Yeshiva's only hiccup came at No. 6 Singles, where it took Rudansky three sets to dispose of CSI's Tsui, 6-2, 6-7, 10-4.

The Dolphins will next be in action a week from Saturday, as they will host Wagner College at 5:30pm at the CSI Tennis Center.
