The College of Staten Island men's volleyball team served up their season tonight at John Jay College, but the Dolphins walked away empty, falling 3-0 at The Doghouse by scores of 25-11, 25-12, and 25-20.  The match was not a conference contest, as CSi fell to 0-1 overall and the Bloodhounds moved to 4-2.

In the opening set, JJC only produced 20 attacks, but hit pay-dirt on 12 of them and scored the final nine points of the set to win 25-11.  The Dolphins produced just four kills in the opener.  In the second set, JJC kept up the pressure and scattered 13 kilsl next to just one error to power to a 25-12.

CSI's finest set was the final set, coming close but ultimately falling by five.  CSI scored a pair of aces in the match, both by junior Mark Palencia.

Palencia would also end up leading the Dolphins with six total kills, followed by Christian Dumadag's three.  Tairou Diaman had a pair of blocks while Michael Liang posted a team-best seven digs.  JJC was paced by Juan DeJesus' 13 kills and six digs while Christopher Rincon posted 25 assists.

CSI will next be in action on Saturday, when they travel to Rutgers-Newark to face off against the hosts (11am) and the College of St. Elizabeth (1pm).
