Game Recap: Men's Volleyball |

DOLPHINS FALL TO BROOKLYN IN STRAIGHT SETS, 3-0

Brooklyn, NY | The College of Staten Island men's volleyball team fell for the second time in five days to Brooklyn College tonight, this time on the road in a match that did not count towards the CUNYAC standings.  For CSI, the team fell to 3-9 overall this season, while the Bulldogs improved their overall mark to 10-8.  Individual scores were 25-20, 25-18, and 25-22.

CSI held a modest, 6-4, lead in the opening set before a Vaughn Titus kill ignited a 7-1 run to give Brooklyn back control.  Christian Dumadag and Michael Liang would add kills for CSI, but BC used another big run, this time 8-2, to take a commanding 19-10 lead.  CSI would finish the first set on a 10-6 tear, but by that point, BC was in full control and won it on a kill by Ahmed Moawad.

Brooklyn never trailed in the second set, and ultimately took their biggest lead when they won the set by seven, 25-18.  James Yi added two kills in the frame for CSI and Liang added an ace to get CSI to within 17-13, the closest margin down the stretch.

In a back-and-forth third set, the lead changed hands six times.  CSI appeared to be in control when a Zebin Guo kill gave them a 19-16 lead, but BC came roaring back, and kills by Gabriel Pjatak and Moaz Ali Choudhary tied the match at 21-21.  CSI then was victimized by three-straight attack errors and a Choudhary kill would seal the win at 25-22.

BC was led by Pjatak's seven kills while Moawaf added six.  Sayuj Zachariah notched 17 assists for BC, while Pjatak and Snigdo Hasan each led with seven digs.  CSi was led by Dumadag's eight kills followed by Guo's seven.  Adil El Haddad posted 29 assists while Ronald Tisbe put up a season-high 17 digs.

CSI will be back in action on Saturday.  They will host both Lehman College and Cairn University beginning at 11:00am at the Sports & Recreation Center.
