The College of Staten Island women's soccer team returns to action today for their first CUNYAC action of the season today against John Jay.

Where: Field 70 - Randall's Island, NY 
Players to Watch (CSI): Samantha LaValle has been unstoppable thus far this season, scoring 11 goals in five games earning herself CUNYAC Player of the Week honors.  LaValle is efficient on the field, putting 67% of her shots on target in 412 minutes of action. Lauren Smith has found success in the passing game, passing her way to four assists which leads the team. Adding to her assists, Smith has a pair of goals, one of which is a game winner. Mirsade Pelinkovic has been solid for the Dolphins on the back line but can also get forward as an extra attacker and she was rewarded for her efforts in her last game.  Pelinkovic uncorked a shot that found its way into the back of the net for her first collegiate goal. 
Players to Watch (JJC): Gianna Russo has six goals in six games this season for the Bloodhounds and has started just four of those games. Russo has been extremely efficient in her rookie campaign as her six goals have come on just 12 shots. Katie Healy is the assist leader for the Bloodhounds, posting three assists to go along with a pair of goals. Brittany Shaneberger has just 1.28 goals allowed per game between the pipes and has made 16 saves.
News & Notes: This will be the 18th meeting between these two programs with the Dolphins boasting a healthy 15-0-2 record against the Bloodhounds. Currently, the Dolphins own a 10-game win streak against the Bloodhounds that stretches back to the 2012 season. John Jay has not scored a goal against Staten Island in the last 15 meetings. John Jay's last goal came in 2005 in a 1-1 draw. As a team, the Bloodhounds are scoring two goals per game while the Dolphins are scoring three goals per game.
