Players to Watch (CSI): The Dolphins leading goal-scorers have remained the same throughout the majority of the 2019 season with MirsadePelinkovic, Amber Mitchell and Samantha LaValle continuing to pace the club with six goals each. It was Jordan Yagos, who is currently second on the team with four goals, that delivered the game-winner in CSI's last match again Brooklyn on Saturday and Nicole Mignone has also added three goals of her own including a two goal, one assist performance against Lehman earlier this year. Defensively, it has been the senior duo of LizbethAparicio and Rebecca D'Aloia that has been the most consistent presence in the Dolphins' lineup and Samantha Beaudreault has spent the majority of time in goal with her stat-line steadily improving as the season has progressed. Beaudreault has saved 69% of the shots that she has faced and has seen her goals-allowed average fall to just about 2.00 goals per game on the season.
Players to Watch (JJC): The Bloodhounds have been prolific on the attack so far this season and are led in scoring by Katie Healy who has a team-best 13 goals and 8 assists. With no shortage of goal-scorers on the John Jay roster, three other players, Kimberly Robledo, Medina Mulic, and Jillian Golden all have found the back of the net at least five times. Overall, 15 different Bloodhounds have scored a goal this year in support of their two primary goalkeepers Brittany Shaneberger and Erika Estro. Both have saved over 64% of the shots they have faced while allowing less than two goals per game with the help of a back line that has seen two players, Anneliese Tucci and Yomary Cordero who have logged over 1000 minutes and started every game for the Bloodhounds this season.
News & Notes: Today's meeting between the Dolphins and Bloodhounds is their first since the 2018 CUNYAC Championship which the Dolphins won by a final score of 6-2. The Dolphins will not only be looking to stay perfect against their former conference in 2019 against John Jay today, but they will also be looking to stay unbeaten against the Bloodhounds all time. CSI has won 17 of the 19 matches against John Jay since 2005 with the two games they did not win ending in a draw. Today's game will likely be the final opportunity for John Jay to pick up a win against the Dolphins as CSI transitions into Division II with membership in the East Coast Conference.
What's Next?: CSI will wrap up the season at home on Saturday when they take on NYU at the CSI Soccer Complex. CSI will recognize their six graduating players ahead of the 12:00 PM kickoff and you can catch all of the action live on CSI Sportsnet.
