She will look continue her progress today along with interior threat Kayla Schmitter who has come on strong recently to lift her scoring average to 9.0 per game while pulling in 5.3 rebounds per game. Jada Rogers is the only other Dolphin to start every game this season, and she is next in tow with 8.8 points and 4.7 rebounds per game. The distance threat for CSI has been Kristen Arvelo, who has bagged eight three-pointers in 33 attempts. Deidre Foster bagged a season-high 14 points in last week's matchup against NYIT, and with a boost in minutes, look for her to build coming off of her last start.
Players to Watch (CCNY): It's been a tough start for the Beavers, but not for Reilly Boehm, who has been averaging 24.8 points per game to go with 4.2 rebounds per game and a total of 10 assists and six steals, both team highs as well. Boehm has lso chipped in 19 three's, eight more than Tianna Fumasoli's 11, who is next in line as well with 13.5 points per game. The pair of combining for 38.3 of CCNY's 49.5 points per game, an overwhelming percentage. Harlean Williams has been potent on the boards, averaging 9.7 rebounds per game to go with 4.2 points. She has also posted eight block shots, good for the team lead.
News & Notes: The Dolphins lead the all-time series by 20 games, and that has been aided by wins in the last six contests. CSI is 20-9 vs. CCNY all-time at home, and the Beavers have not been able to get a win at Staten Island since the 1995-96 season, a 51-47 win back on February 5, 1996. Since then CSI has won 16-straight contests at home against CCNY and they hope to keep the streak alive tonight. To win tonight, both teams will want to change their fortunes shooting. The Dolphins are just 32% from the floor this season and have connected on just 26.7% of their three-point attempts. The Beavers have equally struggled, connecting on just 26.3% from the field and just slightly better from beyond the arc (27.8%). Both teams have also been grossly out-rebounded through six games. The Beavers are a minus-22.2 rebounds per game while the Dolphins are -6.1 in that department. Those statistics will go a long way in determining a winner tonight.
What's Next?: CSI will go back on the road in another CUNYAC matchup, as they will face Medgar Evers College on Friday evening at 6:00 pm. CCNY will also pick things up on Friday, when they face off against John Jay College for a 5:00 pm tilt at home.
